O projeto \u00e9 coordenado cientificamente pelo professor Heitor Evangelista, da Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UERJ) e desenvolvido em coopera\u00e7\u00e3o com diversas institui\u00e7\u00f5es brasileiras, entre elas o INPE, parceiro desde a implanta\u00e7\u00e3o da estrutura.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1250\" data-end=\"1569\">A esta\u00e7\u00e3o permite o monitoramento cont\u00ednuo de vari\u00e1veis atmosf\u00e9ricas e ambientais ao longo de todo o ano, mesmo durante o rigoroso inverno ant\u00e1rtico. Um dos principais representantes do Instituto no projeto \u00e9 o t\u00e9cnico s\u00eanior Heber Passos, que acumula mais de 35 miss\u00f5es na Ant\u00e1rtica, incluindo dez deslocamentos ao Criosfera 1.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2384\" data-end=\"2773\">Ao lado do engenheiro aposentado do INPE Marcelo Sampaio, Heber integra a equipe respons\u00e1vel por assegurar o funcionamento cont\u00ednuo da esta\u00e7\u00e3o. Entre as atribui\u00e7\u00f5es est\u00e3o a instala\u00e7\u00e3o e manuten\u00e7\u00e3o dos sistemas de gera\u00e7\u00e3o de energia renov\u00e1vel, do banco de baterias, dos sensores e dataloggers da esta\u00e7\u00e3o meteorol\u00f3gica autom\u00e1tica, al\u00e9m dos sistemas de comunica\u00e7\u00e3o e transmiss\u00e3o de dados.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2775\" data-end=\"3076\">\u201cNosso trabalho \u00e9 garantir que a esta\u00e7\u00e3o esteja plenamente operacional em condi\u00e7\u00f5es extremas, assegurando energia, comunica\u00e7\u00f5es e estabilidade estrutural. Um dos nomes centrais dessa hist\u00f3ria \u00e9 o pesquisador Alberto Setzer, que coordenou, entre 1984 e 2010, o Projeto de Meteorologia Ant\u00e1rtica do Brasil. A iniciativa foi respons\u00e1vel pela implanta\u00e7\u00e3o do sistema meteorol\u00f3gico do Programa Ant\u00e1rtico Brasileiro (Proantar) na Esta\u00e7\u00e3o Ant\u00e1rtica Comandante Ferraz e em ilhas da Pen\u00ednsula Ant\u00e1rtica.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3583\" data-end=\"3857\">Parte dos equipamentos utilizados atualmente no Criosfera 1 teve origem nesse trabalho pioneiro.
